Staybridge Suites is the upmarket IHG extended-stay brand. If you are looking for a family holiday or an extended stay, a Staybridge Suites property can make for an ideal destination. The brand first made an appearance in 1998 with the opening of the first Staybridge Suites property in Alpharetta, Georgia. Since then, the brand has grown to over 200 properties.
Unlike IHG’s other extended-stay brand, Candlewood Suites, which only operates properties in North America, the Staybridge Suites brand is more widespread with properties in Europe, Mexico, and South America. That being said, by far, the largest number of Staybridge Suites are located in the US, with a few also located in Canada.
The primary difference between Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites is that the former is more upscale and offers better amenities. Generally, Staybridge Suites a better appointed and have more amenities and features than typical Candlewood suite properties.
Booking Staybridge Suites Stays
Being part of the IHG brand, you can book Staybridge stays using points or using points and cash, as well as paying cash for your stays. The points price per night for stays varies wildly depending on the property’s location. You can regularly find properties ranging in price between 12,500 and 25,000 points per night at most locations or popular locations during off-peak travel times. However, award nights can be as high as 45,000 points per night at popular locations, although typically, you should expect to spend much less per night. The easiest and best way to accumulate and boost your IHG points balance is through spending on an IHG co-branded credit card. Currently, IHG has two co-branded credit cards.
IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card
The IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card is the current premium offering from IHG. The card offers a generous set of features and benefits and an outstanding earning rate for stays at IHG properties. The card, which carries a reasonable $99 annual fee, is currently offering a generous welcome bonus. Cardmembers earn 140,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months of account opening. Features of the card include:
- Earn up to 26 points per $1 on stays at IHG properties worldwide.
- Earn 5 points per dollar on purchases at grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations.
- Earn 3 points per dollar on all other purchases.
- Receive a free night certificate every account opening anniversary. The certificate is redeemable at properties costing up to 40,000 points per night.
- Receive complimentary Platinum Elite Status with IHG as long as your account is active.
- For award stays, receive your fourth reward night free when you redeem points for a stay of 4 nights or more.
- Receive a $100 Global Entry or TSA Pre✔ Fee statement credit once every 4 years.
- Use your card to purchase IHG points and receive a 20% discount.
- The card has no foreign transaction fees.
- The card comes with a $99 annual fee.
IHG Rewards Travelers Credit Card
The IHG Rewards Travelers Credit Card is the entry-level IHG co-branded credit card. While it does not offer as generous a set of benefits as the premium offering provided by the IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card, it is a strong performer, nevertheless. The card offers a great deal, especially when you take into account that the card has a 0$ annual fee.
Currently, the card delivers a generous welcome bonus earning you 120,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 in the first three months of card membership. Feature of the IHG Rewards Travelers Club Credit Card include:
- Earn up to 17 points per dollar spent at stays at IHG properties.
- Earn 3 points per dollar on purchases at gas stations and restaurants.
- Earn 2 points per dollar for all other purchases made with your card.
- For award stays, receive your fourth reward night free when you redeem points for a stay of 4 nights or more.
- The card has no foreign transaction fees.
- The card carries a $0 annual fee.
IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card
The IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card is the small business card for IHG members. It allows you to maximize your points earning from business stays and everyday spending on business expenses. The card currently features a very generous welcome bonus of 140,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months of card membership.
- Receive a free night certificate, redeemable at eligible IHG hotels each account anniversary.
- Earn up to 26 points per dollar spent for stays at IHG properties.
- Earn 5 points per dollar on travel, gas stations, purchases, restaurant, and select advertising purchases.
- Earn 3 points per dollar on all other purchases.
- Receive complimentary Platinum Elite membership as long as you remain a cardmember.
- Receive every 4th night free when you book an award night of 4 nights or more.
- Receive a $100 statement credit towards Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS enrolment fees once every 4 years.

4th-night free perk
If you make multiple-night award stays, then the 4th-night free perk, which comes with the IHG Travelers Club Credit Card and the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card, is one of your best options and can save you a bundle. This is especially true if you are looking at purchasing points to use them for an award booking.
As mentioned earlier, the price for an award night at a Staybridge Suites property varies wildly. However, if you assume an average of 25,000 points per night, then a 4-night stay would set you back 100,000 points. However, due to the 4th-night free perk, you would receive the fourth night free resulting in a total cost of 75,000 points.
Now consider the situation if you have zero points balance, and you will have to purchase all the points needed for your stay. Typically, you can purchase IHG points for around 0.5 cents per point. Buying the 75,000 points would set you back $375. That works out at a per-night price of $93.75 points per night.
Compare that to the cash price of the same 4 night stays at a hotel costing 25,000 points per night, and you will find that the deal works out as a substantial saving. In many cases, it can actually make more sense financially to purchase points and redeem them for your stay, especially if you can maximize the value of your award by using the 4th-night free perk!
Staybridge Suites Overview
Staybridge Suites properties have all the amenities you would typically associate with extended stay hotel brands. Although the properties have different features like a pool and such, these vary depending on the property location. However, all the Staybridge properties have some basic configurations in common.
There are three types of rooms available at Staybridge Suites properties:
- A studio suite
- A one-bedroom suite with either a double bed or two single beds.
- A 2-bedroom suite.
All suites feature a fully equipped kitchen featuring all the appliances you would find at home, including a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker for your morning brew. The suites also have luggage storage areas ironing boards, and most properties will also feature complimentary Wi-Fi. Also, dealing with Laundry is easy during your stays, and properties will have multiple laundry machines that are free to use.
Many Staybridge suites properties will also feature a breakfast bar and regular bar. While others, especially those geared towards resort stays, will also feature swimming pools and outdoor seating areas. Some properties even feature outdoor fire pits and a grilling area so you can indulge in some outdoor alfresco dining on your trip.
For those who want to stay in shape while away, most properties provide fitness facilities to grab a workout on your trip. By far, one of the biggest advantages Staybridge Suites offers is that a lot of the properties are pet friendly. This makes the brand a great option if you are looking to get away with your family and want your pet to share in the holiday experience too.
Staybridge Suites Anaheim At The Park
If you are heading over to any of the parks, then the ideally located Staybridge Suites Anaheim At The Park is the ideal location to be based at; Downtown Disney, the Disneyland Resort, and the Monorail entrance are a short walk away from the property. Located just off the I5, the hotel is ideal for virtually every attraction in Orange County.

The suites feature all the usual amenities you would associate with a Staybridge Suite property. In addition, it also features an outdoor fire pit so you can relax at the end of a busy day at the parks. You can also relax in the outdoor pool or catch a workout in the state-of-the-art fitness center at the property. Similar to other Staybridge properties, you can fuel up the start of your day at the daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet.
Staybridge Suites Las Vegas
Located in the heart of Las Vegas, the Staybridge Suites Las Vegas is the perfect base to explore the city. The Las Vegas Strip, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, The High Roller, and T-Mobile Arena are all within easy reach when staying at the Staybridge Suites Las Vegas. Being in the heart of the strip, almost all of Vegas’s attractions were within easy reach.

Aside from all the usual amenities, the property features an outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub so you can unwind and relax after a busy day enjoying the Las Vegas attractions. Staybridge Suites Orlando At SeaWorld

The property is centrally located within minutes of a wide range of resorts and parks, including Universal Orlando Resort, Orange County Convention Center, and Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

You can also fuel up your day with the daily complimentary breakfast. If you are flying into Orlando International Airport, an air-conditioned shuttle runs every half hour from 5:00 AM to 1:30 AM. International Locations
Staybridge suites has a far more global footprint than the other extended stay IHG brand Candlewood Suites. While you can only find Candlewood Suites properties in The US and Canada, Staybridge Suites are located in a wide range of countries from the US to Egypt and the United Kingdom to France. This international footprint makes the Staybridge Suites brand a great option when traveling internationally.
Staybridge Suites London – Vauxhall
Located centrally just south of the river Thames, the Staybridge Suites London – Vauxhall makes an ideal headquarters when visiting London. The hotel is a stone’s throw away (5 minute walk) from the Vauxhall tube (underground) and bus stations. If you plan to visit Big Ben or the London Eye, they are both located on the Westminster Embankment, which is only a 20 minutes walk away. The property is also close (a 25-minute walk) to Hyde Park and the Natural history museum.

Staybridge Suites Bangkok Thonglor
Basing yourself out of the Staybridge Suites Bangkok Thonglor is ideal when visiting Bangkok. Whether you are in Bangkok for business or as a tourist exploring the city . the property is centrally located within walking distance of the city’s business district. The property is also close to the BTS Thonglor Skytrain station, which opens up the rest of the city for you.

Keep an eye out for the Staybridge Suites Cannes Centre, which is scheduled to open soon. The gorgeous-looking property on the Riviera is the perfect base to enjoy the world-famous Cannes Film Festival or explore the renowned Riveria.
The hotel is scheduled to open on October 1, 2022, and will feature all the usual amenities associated with Staybridge Suite properties, including Free Wifi, complimentary hot breakfast, and more.
