Unlike other frequent flyer programs, JetBlue TrueBlue has a very simple loyalty system consisting of only two status tiers: Jetblue Basic and Jetblue Mosaic. But don’t let the simplicity fool you because the travel perks you’ll get pack a lot of punch!

JetBlue Trublue is actually a solid loyalty program but it’s often overshadowed by programs from bigger carriers like Delta SkyMiles, United MileagePlus, and American AAdvantage.

What Is JetBlue Mosaic?

Before we go into the details, let’s first define the terms that will be discussed below. JetBlue airline’s loyalty program is called JetBlue TruBlue, where you can earn points through flying, travel partners, and eligible cards. You can then use those points to redeem JetBlue Vacations packages and award flights.

The TrueBlue program has two tiers: Basic and Mosaic. You can sign up for a TruBlue Basic status for free, and you can enjoy exclusive rewards and travel deals.

TrueBlue Mosaic is the next tier, and there are some requirements for you to earn this. If you do meet the requirements, you’ll get an upgraded travel experience like points earning bonuses, free checked bags, priority services, travel assistance, and many more.

How To Get JetBlue Member Status

Signing up is free, and you’ll be given a Basic status right away once you’ve completed the online form. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to JetBlue.com.
  2. Click Join on the homepage.
  3. Fill out the required information.
  4. Set up your security questions.
  5. Click Sign Up.

You don’t have to be a JetBlue loyalist to sign up for a TrueBlue account. Even if you just plan on flying JetBlue once a year, signing up is still worth it.

How To Get JetBlue Mosaic Status

To move up to TrueBlue Mosaic status, you need to meet one of the following requirements below within a calendar year:

  • 15,000 Mosaic Qualifying Points
  • 30 Segments +12,000 Mosaic Qualifying Points
  • Spend $50,000 on your JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card 

Once you complete any of these requirements, you’ll automatically get Jetblue Mosaic status for the rest of the year when you earned it, plus the entire following year. For example, if you earned Mosaic status on September 24, 2022, your status is valid until December 31, 2023.

The earlier you earn Jetblue Mosaic status, the longer you’ll enjoy its benefits.

Jetblue Mosaic Benefits

Here’s an overview of the benefits you’ll get when you reach Jetblue Mosaic status.

Bonus Points

TrueBlue Mosaic members can earn up to 9 bonus points on JetBlue-operated flights (except for Blue Basic) that were purchased directly on jetblue.com: JetBlue Mint, Blue Extra, Blue Plus, or Blue fare.

  • Earn 3 points per dollar as a TrueBlue member when flying on JetBlue-operated flights.
  • Earn 3 points per dollar when booking the flights directly on jetblue.com.
  • Earn 3 points per dollar as a Trueblue Mosaic member.

That’s a total of 9 bonus points. Take note that the points will be earned on basic flight charges only and not on taxes, government fees, or travel insurance.

Free Same-Day Switching

Get free same-day switches on all fares (including Blue Basic) for you and eligible companions who are on the same itinerary. The request must be made 24 hours before your departure. Changes made

Take note that guests must check in with the primary traveler at the same time to be able to avail the Mosaic benefits.

Free Checked Bags

Get the first 2 checked bags for free for you and eligible travel companions, plus 1 free carry and 1 personal item. You get to save $35 on the first bag and $45 on the second bag. Weight and size limits apply on all flights.

The primary traveler and the guests must all check in at the same time on all segments of their itinerary.

Free Wine, Beer, And Liquor

Members who are 21 years of age or older will get complimentary inflight alcoholic beverages except on express flights or flights with no inflight service (except on flights under 340 miles). The benefit only applies to the primary traveler and not to travel companions.

Most airlines offer only one glass per flight, but JetBlue offers free drinks all throughout the flight. Beverages typically cost around $8 to $9 per glass, so that’s worth $18 of savings if you drink at least two times per flight.

Exclusive Access To Mint Studio

Mosaic members can redeem points for Mint Studio, a spacious front-row seat that’s available on London flights and select flights between LAX and JFK.

Priority Boarding

Boarding the plane faster with priority boarding and dedicated boarding lanes. Overhead bins typically run out of space fast, so having priority boarding means you get to store your carry-on luggage properly.

You can choose any available Even More Space seat from the seat map starting 24 hours prior to departure (subject to availability). Just check the available seats when you check in online, on the app, or at the airport kiosk.

When you redeem Even More Space for 200 points or less, you’ll get a 200-point rebate after you’ve completed your flight. Basically, it’s like getting the benefit for free.

Get Premium Perks An American Airlines Flights

Mosaic members who are traveling on American Airlines-operated flights will have 2 two complimentary checked bags, free Main Cabin Extra, free same-day flight change, expedited security, priority check-in, and priority boarding.

Not to mention, you’ll also earn TrueBlue points plus the bonus points you’ll earn as a Mosaic member on American flights.

Complimentary FoundersCard Membership

Typically, FoundersCard membership costs $595, but you’ll get it for free with your Mosaic status. With the membership, you’ll enjoy 500+ premium travel, business, and lifestyle benefits, exclusive member pricing and privileges, and loyalty status upgrades.

Complimentary Upgrade On Heathrow Express

Get a complimentary upgrade from Express to Business First on the Heathrow Express between Heathrow and Paddington Station.  

Typically, a single Express ticket costs 25 pounds while a Business First ticket costs 32 pounds, so that’s about 7 pounds worth of savings.

Get More Benefits With Jetblue Mosaic Plus

TrueBlue members who go beyond the minimum requirements for reaching Mosaic for the year 2022 will have a chance to earn Mosaic+. These are ad Just accomplish any of the two requirements below:

  • Earn 45, 000 Qualifying Points
  • Spend $150,000 on your JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card

The benefits are pretty much the same with Mosaic, but the only difference is that you’ll get 4 Mint Upgrade certificates. JetBlue Mint offers lay-flat seats on Caribbean, Europe, and U.S. routes.

We assume that you’re already a Mosaic member 2022 and is only a few Qualifying Points away from reaching 45,000 points. The promo is valid until December 31, 2022, only so you might not be able to reach Mosaic+ if you’re still working towards reaching Mosaic.

If you do manage to reach both Mosaic and Mosaic+ this 2022, it’s still not worth it because the benefits do not extend beyond December 31, 2022.

Earn More TrueBlue JetBlue Transfer Partners

You typically earn TrueBlue points by flying on JetBlue-operated flights, American Airlines-operated flights, and co-branded credit cards (JetBlue Plus or JetBlue Business Card). But did you know that you can also earn points through transfer partners like Amex and Chase?

Bottomline: Is JetBlue Mosaic Worth It?

The first thing that you need to consider is the presence of JetBlue hubs and focus cities in your area. If you live near New York, Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, Los Angeles, Boston, and Puerto Rico, then having a JetBlue Mosaic status is worth it.

Alternatively, getting Mosaic status might is also worth it if you fly American Airlines on a regular basis. JetBlue and American Airlines decided to partner with each other recently, which allows both airlines to codeshare on Northeast routes. This means that you can earn and redeem miles reciprocally from both airlines too.
