Welcome Bonus
The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card‘s current welcome bonus of 140,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months of card membership is utterly massive. You can leverage this for some excellent value, especially if you combine it with the 4th-night free perk.
The flagship property of the IHG network is the Intercontinental brand. Although most properties are expensive, multiple properties will set you back around 40,000 points per night. This is especially true if you look at some properties in European cities. Typically a stay at any of these hotels will set you back several hundred dollars per night.
Using your 140,000 points welcome bonus for a 3-night stays, would represent an outstanding saving and would be an excellent use of your points. You can boost the value of your bonus points even further if you combine it with the 4th-night free perk on award stays.
Fantastic Earning Rates At IHG Properties
When it comes to stays at IHG properties, reaching in your pocket and paying for your stay using your IHG® Rewards Premier Business Credit Card will earn you an excellent 26 points per dollar spent. This represents an excellent return. If you stay at a mid-tier property costing $100 per night, you will pick up 2,600 points for paying with your card.
With such a high earning rate, you can easily and quickly build up a hefty balance of IHG Rewards points if you are a regular business guest at IHG properties.
Great Earning On Business Expenses
The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card offers some excellent earning rates on various business expenses. Whether you are taking clients out to lunch or paying for select advertising services, you will earn 5 points per dollar at travel, gas stations, select advertising, and restaurants.
This can be a great way to boost and build up your IHG points balance using everyday business spending. The 5X at gas stations can be particularly lucrative if you travel a lot and are used to driving several hundred miles per week for work.
The card is no slouch when it comes to other expenses that do not earn a bonus multiplier. Expenses not eligible for the 5X bonus will earn you 3 points per dollar.
4th Night Free Perk
If you make longer award stays at IHG properties, such as taking a vacation or two per year, the 4th-night free perk can be a real winner and save you a substantial amount of point/money. Holders of the IHG® Rewards Premier Business Credit Card will receive every 4tgh night of an award stay for free. So, if they book 4 nights, they would receive 1 night free. If they book 8 nights, they will receive 2 nights free.
Whether you are using your existing balance of points or purchasing IHG points to make your reservation, there is some excellent value to be had. Take, for instance, an 8-night stay at a property costing 25,000 points per night. Receiving two nights of the eight for free means the award will set you back 150,000 points. Consider that you can regularly purchase IHG points for 0.5 cents per point; the awards will set you back $750 or $93.75 per night.
That is excellent value and a considerable saving on a property costing 25,000 points per night since, on average, paying cash for such properties will set you back much more than $93.75 per night.
Final Thoughts
IHG was the odd one out of the major hotel chains for a long time now. Most other hotels had business co-branded credit cards, allowing their fans to maximize their earnings on their business expenses, while IHG did not. The IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card launch brings the brand in line with other hotels and opens an entirely new avenue for fans to boos their IHG points balances.
The IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card is a great companion for small business owners who are regular users of IHG and will enable them to substantially boost their points earning from business expenses.
