The bonus points from the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card are very valuable for credit card enthusiasts. In fact, Capital One increased the card’s welcome bonus to 100K again. It’s a no-brainer also because of its competitive miles earning rate of 2x miles on all purchases and the ability to transfer these miles to more than 10+ loyalty programs.

How To Earn The Capital One Venture Card Bonus

Cardholders will earn a welcome bonus of 100,000 points after spending $20,000 on purchases in the first 12 months from account opening. However, if they cannot meet the $20,000 spending threshold, they can still earn 50,000 points if they are able to spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months.

Cardholders will also earn unlimited and non-expiring 2x miles on every single purchase they make, and 5x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. This makes the Capital One Venture Card’s $95 annual fee all worth it.

There are no blackout dates when you fly with any airline or stay at any hotel. Points are also transferrable to more than 10 travel loyalty programs.

Other perks also include a $100 application fee credit for Global Entry or TSA Pre-check.

Capital One Venture Card Vs Capital One VentureOne Card

The difference between the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card is that the former gas an annual fee and the latter does not.

Earning Miles On Your Capital One Venture Card

The Capital One Venture Card has a very simple rewards structure which is 2x miles on all purchases. Some say that other cards can offer higher rates such as 5x on travel purchases, but then again, those rates are only limited to their assigned category.

The advantage of the Venture Card is its simplicity and the assurance that you can earn a solid 2x miles on everything you buy.

New Non-travel Redemptions Extended Through 2021

When the pandemic hit the travel industry hard a few months ago, a lot of credit card issuers (including Capital One) gave cardholders more non-travel redemption options.

Capital One allowed redemptions on food delivery, takeout, streaming services, and phone services for its credit cards depending on the type of card you have.

The temporary non-travel redemptions were supposed to end in the year 2020, however, Capital One has extended it up until April 30, 2021.

Here are the additional redemption categories for the different Capital One cards.

Capital One Venture & Capital One VentureOne Cards

Venture & VentureOne cardholders will be able to redeem their miles from purchases made within the past 90 days for food delivery, take-out, and streaming services. Some of the eligible delivery services include Doordash, Postmates, and Uber Eats. Meanwhile, some of the eligible streaming services include Kindle Unlimited, Spotify, Hulu, and Netflix.

Capital One Spark Miles For Business & Capital One Spark Miles Business Select

Cardholders will be able to redeem their miles for food delivery and takeout too. However, instead of streaming, they can only redeem their miles for phone services. Some of the eligible phone services include T-Mobile, At&T, and Verizon.
